09 Road Star rev limits. 2 Years, 2 Months ago  
What is the rev limiter set @ on a stock 09 Road Star and would it harm the motor if I up it to 5500 RPMs?

Think it is 4750 if it is like the older year 1700. I have mine set for 5500 but I never take it over 5000-5100 don't want to over stress the weak valve springs. I just didn't like the engine cutting out when I hit it. Any thing over say 3800 and you not doing much the power curve drops off really quick.

After looking at the dyno curves posted by many, I quit worrying about higher RPMs because the Max torque and HP are achieved before the stock limiter kicks in.
