Question on my new 07 MS Silverado 5 Years, 1 Month ago
I like the old heel toe shifter that was on my previous 01 Midnight more that the one now used on the 07. Is the spline the same, so that I could use one from an older model if I can find one?

Second, are the reflectors that are on the MS Silverado bags just taped on so they can be removed with fishing line and goo gone?

Thanks in advance!

Curt

on the "NO" to the shifter. Are you saying that Yamaha changed the splined rod for the 1700? I have no info on that but I would highly doubt it.

I went to measure mine and the batteries are dead on my calipers.

In 06 they went to a 2 piece shifter and I think (Not sure) that it mounts differently. I probably should have held off answering the question based on what I'm not sure of. My bad.

That's OK .... you're making us think (too hard ).

That means the mount on the floorboard may be different.

Here's mine.

Yup. I think you would have to get a left side older (1600) model floorboard.

The shifter is different but is the floorboard different where the shifter goes through it?

Can you get a pic of that area?

Yamaha list the single arm shifter for the 99-05 so I think you're correct for the 06 and up.

Yup. I was at least sure on the 06 2 piece. Here's a crop from the Yami parts catalog for starters. I'll try and take a pic of the floorboard mount.
