Curt, if you get the seat rail, let me know if it fits your Ultimate seat. I'm planning on the same seat soon.

UPDATE: Received my seat rail today and of course had to install it even with 4 inches of snow outside. Big dissapointment when I found out that the stock '04 seat DOES NOT fit with the rail in place . No way to mod the seat without cutting and recovering.

Still am planning on getting a new seat this spring. Would like to get one that also works with the seat rail. If anyone has first hand knowledge on the Ultimate seat and this seat rail being compatible, let me know.

Sorry it didn't fit for you brother, but on the brighter side you just saved me buying it for my 04, always a bright side for someone.

No worries. Like I said, I'm planning on a new seat anyway. Just need to do my homework a little better. Tomorrow I'm going to give it another try. 18ºF and mostly dark in the garage when I was attempting the first time. Not a lot of patience at the time . Saw someone post they had an '05 with stock seat and it fit their bike so maybe it's just me...NAW!!!
