UPDATE: Received my seat rail today and of course had to install it even with 4 inches of snow outside. Big dissapointment when I found out that the stock '04 seat DOES NOT fit with the rail in place . No way to mod the seat without cutting and recovering.

Still am planning on getting a new seat this spring. Would like to get one that also works with the seat rail. If anyone has first hand knowledge on the Ultimate seat and this seat rail being compatible, let me know.

That's weird...my sigpic has the seat rail on and the '04 stock seat (with a sheepskin cover on it). Granted, it's a PCS modified seat, but they only reform & scoop out the middle, not shave length in the back or front...

I can say for sure they fit the stock '06 seat.
You can see it in my profile pic, not the sig pic,

Checked part number today and it is for the Road Star (STR-4WM24-60-01). The back of the seat is as far back against the rail as it can go and I am still about a good inch from getting it to latch. I haven't been super aggressive yet but I'm getting close. As I stated before, I'm replacing the seat but it bothers me why it won't fit when so many of you with stock '04 seats say it will.

By the way...it's snowing like it's nobodys business right now (Ohio). Looks like spring is still a ways off .

An inch! Okay... maybe the part was identified incorrectly? Its been known to happen. Bring it to a stealership and compare.

Break out the snow mobile!

Yep, that's what I was thinking. Why is the simplest of things so difficult at times?

Scotto, does your seat fit easily or do you have to force it in (with the rail)? Sorry, I know this topic is past it's life expectancy already.

Fits as if the rail was not there.

Anybody need one of those seat rails? I've got one going on Ebay this weekend.
