Tranny acted strange yesterday. 5 Years ago
So my wife and I are headed for dinner last night , leave the subdivision, get to the first traffic light, I down shift to first (hanging a right ,so we never stopped moving) and the tranny won't give me first. Then when I finally do get it to drop, as I shift to 2nd, it was like that was the last gear in the tranny. What I mean is that when I pulled it up for 2nd, the shifter came way back to me physically, and "stuck" there, so that there was no more room to shift to pick up any more gears. Pulled to the side of the road, fiddled with it a bit, would not give, so headed back to the house, then suddenly, back to normal. Been fine since. Ever heard of this or had it happen? Glich? I do run forwards, but shifting for 5000 plus miles has been A+.Thoughts?BB

Did you check the shift linkage rod? I had that happen to me on the freeway...no matter how hard I pulled back on the shifter, I couldn't get more than second gear. I pulled over to look, and the lock nuts on both ends of the shift linkage rode had come loose and the bar had lengthened itself, and was hitting the engine casing, preventing me from shifting,

I hope that's all it is...
