Hey slothy,

Just a couple morre questions. I like the look of the blackpulley cover but I think I would like to leave mine the factory finish. Did you paint yours out of necessity form the machineing or could you have left it with the factory finish? Also do you have any more pics that show a true side shot of the bike? One more thought I think when I do mine Im gonna powder coat the pulley absolute chrome (same as I did on my wheels). I had the thought of replaceing the factory retainer nut with a stainless steel nut. Do you think I need to worry about the strength of the nut givin its application? Thanks again.

i painted it, not cause of marks, but cause i wanted more black then they cut the hole out for me, he mounted it via bolts with the existing holes on cover.

as for the nut, stainless material is more then fine, but the nut has a c'bore on backside of it, not sure a normal off the shelf nut would work. i had to space my pulley out to clear 250 tire, so i used the nut backwards since the c'bore was no longer useful.

I forgot about the nut being bored on the back. I will have to do a little more research on that. Thanks

You can take off all of the stock supports and reinstall the pully, the added support of the stock brackets or the naked pully kit are nice (and recommended) however I have seen some without and seem to do just fine. Try coyotecustoms.com they have a bobber that has this setup.
