I have had to cut off grips in the past. They never seem to come off cleanly, although that WD-40 trick sounds nifty. I know some of my buddies who ride dirt bikes inject silicone caulk into the bar ends (after suitably plugging at the desired depth with a piece of rag). It gives weight and vibration-damping. Of course, you can't do that with internal wires.. OBMF
