V Star Clutch adjustment ?? 2 Years, 1 Month ago
Hi.. I have a 2007 V Star 650 and the clutch appears to be way out of adjustment at the gearbox pivot marker. I have removed the side cover inpection slot but the adjustment does not appear to be obvious. Has anyone adjusted one of these and taken any photo's of the procedure that they could post or reply with a link to any information on this procedure. Many thanks.

They have an adjustment at the handlebar lever and the cable where it's clipped to the frame. Keep in mind the VStar 650 clutch has an odd feel to it. You can get more info at http://www.650ccnd.com/

Thanks for your reply.. I'm aware of the adjustment up at the clutch lever but the repair manual also mentions an internal push rod adjustment in the centre of the clutch pack. It mentions that the slotted round inspection cap on the left side of the engine needs (the one below the timing inspection hole)to be removed and that a nut needs to be undone so that the allen keyed clutch rod can be adjusted. Apparently this rod is the adjuster for the clutch rod marker on the left top side of the gearbox. On my Vstar the nut as mentioned in the manual is a bolt and while I have tried to release it I can't seem to get it to budge. Can anyone advise if it is ok to undo this bolt with an air impact gun?...
