Has anybody successfully shortened or lengthened it. I want to relocate it, but not sure where yet.

I'd like to do the same with my idle adjust cable. Since adding the new filter, just sticks out. If nothing else, may look swapping it over to chrome somehow, then it won't be such an eyesore!

Wish I could help because I'd like to do the same with my choke cable. Since removing the fuel pump and relocating the choke knob the cable is too long. Not sure if it can be shortened or if another, shorter cable is available.

Eyesore? No, not really. If you have an M*, just paint the bracket black; otherwise, paint it chrome. You won't even notice it. Problem solved.

I think it's in a great location - easy to reach. I'd leave it right where it is.

My $.02.
