I have a 2003 Roadstar 1600 and was wondering if it was maybe part of the recall. And who do I need to contact about it. Expert Boarder Posts: 532 Re:Trany Recall? 2 Years, 1 Month ago   YOu can also check the VIN number on NECK and see if there's a 'dimple' formed by a 'punch' between the 2 and 3 number/letter. Somewhere around there above the VIN. . .BUT the BEST way is as said before, call the dealer or Yamaha direct. My 99 had the punch mark on the neck but the vin search said it wasn't done. I had it done last fall.
