Trany Recall? 2 Years, 1 Month ago
Ive searched on here about a trany recall, and got no specific info on it. I have a 2003 Roadstar 1600 and was wondering if it was maybe part of the recall. And who do I need to contact about it. Thanks for any help.

You should just be able to contact your local Yamaha Dealer with your VIN # and they can look up wether or not the bike you have has been done already. Hope that helps

YOu can also check the VIN number on NECK and see if there's a 'dimple' formed by a 'punch' between the 2 and 3 number/letter. Somewhere around there above the VIN. . .BUT the BEST way is as said before, call the dealer or Yamaha direct. I did that and since I'm the 3rd owner, they got my name and address so if there's anymore recalls, it comes to me.

Good luck

Or if your locl dealer doesnt seem to give you a confident answer you can also call Yamaha Corp. They can tell you the same information.

I would just call Yamaha Corp like I did. They have it on record and will tell you what dealer did it and when.

You can find the complete details if you Google "Yamaha motorcycle recalls". You will get a complete list of years and bikes with the recall info.

Don't rely on the punch mark. My 99 had the punch mark on the neck but the vin search said it wasn't done. I had it done last fall. Vin # at the dealer is the true way to tell if it was done.
