Venture Bag Questions 2 Years, 1 Month ago
Great site--lots of good information.

Just recently picked up a 04 1700 RS, and am looking for bags. Like the Venture bags that you guys have done, and had a couple questions...

1. Size wize...what is the largest rectangle you can fit inside? I'm a IT Geek and haul a laptop around, so I was hoping to fit it inside.

2. Can they work with factory exhaust? Will it look stupid with a factory exhaust because they'd need to be too high?

3. If I were to swap exhaust (this starts getting real expensive) to make them fit, what is the recommended option for someone who doesn't want something loud. They could be a little louder underway, and a better tone at idle wouldn't be bad, but I don't want it to give me a headache.

Thanks.

Depending on your exhaust set up, you can get deeper bags that will just about hold a server (OK, almost) but I use my saddleman for laptops. You can also fit some desktops in there or a LCD monitor.
BTW

Can't tell you what size laptop would fit, but I think a fairly good size would fit easy.
They would have to be very high with stock exhaust.
I have Doolies which work real well with the bags.

My 17" laptop alone fits with ease. It just depends how thick and bulky your carry case is. My case is too bulky.
Go to your local Yammi dealer and see if your laptop setup fits in the Royal Star bags your considering.

I dont think the Venture bags would look very good sitting up high on a R* w/ stock exhaust.

Oh, hey, Welcome to the Clinic.

First

I don't think you would have any problem fitting a large laptop in the bags they are huge.

If you put them on with the stock exhaust it would look funny IMHO they would have to be very high on the fender

Exhaust is a tricky question what I consider to be nice sound others might think it's crazy loud. Make sure you get an exhaust that has baffles this will reduce the sound and you could add packing to it too.
I think the Roadhouse duals with baffles have a nice low rumble at idle and not annoying at speed. BUT they ARE louder than stock.

Hope this helps.
