yes my dealer told me that the starter jet is not a jet now at all...
this comes after i drilled it out thinkin i had gotten a dud from the factory...
i read in the maunal that it was supposed to be a #52...
but i have since soldered it closed again...
i think concerning the sticky valve problem on many of the '04 and '05 engines running them too rich is the largest culprit...
this is not to say that some are not problem valves, regardless...
but that alot of people rum em too rich because of fear of being too lean and wanting more response from the throttle and that the engine is being subjected to more carbon than is nesecary....
i am happy that i dont seem to have an engine with the valve problem....SO FAR...

I have a Kuryakyn hyper xharge on my 2000 R*. It came with the bike when I bought it. I had some Shoegun pipes put on and the mechanic said that whoever installed the hypercharger failed to do so properly. There is a small rubber hose that regulates a float ball ( I am not mechanically inclined nor do I profess to be, so I may not give you the correct name) and it is supposed to be attached to the back side of the hypercharger. There is a little threaded piece that attaches to the hose and screws into the hypercharger. If it is not installed the mechanic said that my bike would surge, and basically do like you desribed. When I left the shop and got onto the open road, sure enough, it started to surge, almost felt like it was cutting out. I have orders the part, it cost .50 cents. When I get it installed I will update my reply to let you know if that cured my problem. When I spoke to Kuryaky, the tech acked if my unit had been drilled and tapped yet, so I guess it is not a standard attachment. Hope this helps.
