May have trouble getting them out with that many miles carbon has built up. I bought a cheap dent puller at AutoZone (Slide Hammer) Made a long 1/8 dia rod for out of welding rod with a L shpaed hook on the end for pulling mine out. Stick it in as far as you can and catch the front edge of the baffle then hammer away.

Dumb question, but you know a about the screws that hold them in right?

I have the same pipes. Easy as pie...one screw on the bottom of each pipe and yes, some sort of hook apparatus and they tap right out.

Re:exhaust baffles 2 Years ago
Thanks for the info,
i put mine on a few months ago and i really like the way they sound and look on the bike. Are the baffles in the rear section of the pipe, after the one piece crossover section or are they in the rear section of the pipes?? Cobra did not mention the baffles in the paperwork that came with them..is there any selection of baffles for this exhaust system..could they be toned down a bit if one has bitchy neighbors..??I am just wondering because i did not see anything on the Cobra site about this but maybe i wasnt looking in the right place.. anyway, my pipes stay as they are..they have a great sound to them..i dont care who complains..

Re:exhaust baffles 1 Year, 11 Months ago
Hey guys,

I've been searching here about home made baffles, etc. I have what I THINK are cobra dragsters slash cut and staggered. I want a little more sound out of the bike. With the baffles in, it sounds nice and runs well, but it's just too quite. With the baffles out, it's too much.

I want to keep some of the deep rumble but take the edge off. I was thinking of making my own baffles. I have some steel tubing (approx. 2"OD) that I would sleeve over some tubing that's about 1-3/4" OD. I'd make them about half the length of my original baffles which are about 12" long and sleeve about 1/2" on each end. Then I'd drill holes all through the smaller tube.

Am I wasting my time, or do you think this could work?

Again, my goal is to get a little more of a rumble than my Cobra baffles provide, but still not be too obnoxious. I am willing to do the jetting work necessary.

Thanks.

You can do what your talking about but don't drill the small tube. That would be the same as torque chambers. You can go to an auto parts store and buy auto tailpipe reducers and weld them togeather to make torque chambers. They sound great I am running them in my Stubbies on my 05.

So don't drill the small tube at all?

If i don't, won't it still be like a straight pipe? I thought drilling the holes would help take the edge off.

What if I just cut my Cobra baffles in half?

WHere did you get yours?

THanks.
