I think I figured out my problem. When I put the bike in its barn I let it run with the petcock off for a while, then I pulled the fuel line off and drained the filter before I started the AIS removal. When done I didn't let the fuel drain to the carb long enough to fill the bowl. I just now went out, turned the fuel on, let it sit, and it fired right off.
It still runs a little rough but tomorrow when I put the Barons air mixture screw in maybe I can get rid of that with a little adjustment.
