Need Your Help!!! Please! 1 Year, 8 Months ago
So I had the Bike parked for 5 months. I went to start it and battery was dead. I charged it and went to start and it only will start with the choke pulled all the way out and it wont idle for longer then 60-90 seconds. I pulled out the choke again and started kept the throtle open just enough to get it stay on but it started to shoot out flames from the exhuast and back fire. As soon as I let the throtle go it cuts off. I am not sure where to start at. Can any one please point in the right direction? Thanks!

I would suggest you drain the gas out of the tank and carb and fill up part way with fresh gas.
Put in some MMO or Seafoam to clean the gunk out of the carb.
You may have some jet clogging due to old gas sitting in the carb.
If you are going to let her sit for a while, put in some MMO or Seafoam and run the engine to get it into the carb before you store her.

normal for a bike sitting that long. probably got lacquer build-up, as others have suggested, seafoam or chevron techron into the gas (fresh gas) I would also do fresh spark plugs as well. If that don't clean it out, then you will need to do an off the bike carb cleaning.

Sounds like your primary jet is clogged, probably with the crap that evaporating gasoline leaves behind. Drain the tank and the carb to get the old petrol out of both.
You've got a couple of options at this point. You can try to get the clog to dissolve by just putting in fresh gas and draining the carb a couple of times after letting it sit for 15-20 minutes.
If that doesn't help you try filling/flushing the carb with a mild solvent such as mineral spirits. Again give it 15-20 minutes for work before draining the carb.
If the shade tree fixes don't work, you'll have to pull the carb and clean the jets and passages.
I hope this helps.

That dang ethanol attracts water like crazy. The fix is the same as the others have said. If it has to sit that long keep the tank full to prevent rust and add a stabilizer. I have to go through this every year with my duck boat.
