I had the same problem with mine. Changed the front tire and problem gone. Make sure the new tire is balanced good and has proper inflation and my bet is no more shimmy.

About the steering.
If it wont stay in one place (central)when the front wheel is of the ground then you need to nip it up untill it does.There are two nuns on the top with a o ring in between, loosen off the top one and tighten the bottom one untill it will stay central without floping to the side then tighten up the top nut,but not so that it squeeses out the o ring.you will find it will stop that flighty feeling on the steering which can be quite spooky.(like somebody elce is steering).

With the front tire off the ground it flops really easy side to side. The bolt is quite tight already. I thought it was only supposed to be around 10flbs. Should the steering not flop easy side to side with gravity when it is off the ground?? If not, how stiff should it be? If the bolt is really tight already and it still flops this free, how would you get it tighter? I always thought the bars should rotate really easy like it is now when the front tire is in the air.

Also, I had the article to the string method but lost the link. Can someone please post a link to the string alignment method? Have the bike on the jack and wanted to try that method to check alignment. The measurement from the swing arm to the axle are the same on both sides that I can tell (16.5in) So I figured I would try this method.
Will probably get new tires here when I have the $$. Probably going with the WW Shinkos since the price is much better and read some good reviews. Then just dump the Metz on ebay.

i would check the steering sounds like its to loose.lift the front off the ground and if the steering flops to the side easily it needs tightening.

==================================================

The fork on my 06 silverado also wen from side to side easily by it self when off ground on jack.

Bite the bullet and get another new front tire becasue i bet you find thats the problem just like in my cvase when io installed 2 newq dunlops and ther front dunlop was defective even though showed no visable signs of being bad.

New bridgestone corrected the handling issue.

All you guys are fogetting the most imp[ortatnt fact here rthats is the bike handle fine with no wobbles issue untill new tire install so either they didnt ballance fromnt tire right which was dbl checlked or new tire is defective as in my case,its as simple as that.

Theres no way all the sudden.</span></span>

Theres no way all the sudden the steering head bearing,wheel bearing etc are goin g to go bad or be way too loose from bike having new tires installed they wobble after that.

The front tire is lokely bad.

BTYW,id have a dif shop install next new tire if/when you decide to do it in case current shops ballance machine it out of calibration just enough to cause handling issues on your bike or ballancing person isnt doing it well enough at the current shop your using causing handleing issues with your bike.
