Roadstar Rear Fenders 1 Year, 6 Months ago
Hi again, got a new question.
What is the difference in the rear fender on a 1600 and and the 1700 models besides the tail light?
Are they interchangeable without mounting alterations?
Thanks
Denny

The fenders will interchange, but the taillight mounting is different between the two. There is a big recessed hole on the LED taillight bikes and the plug by the backseat for the taillights is also different between the two.

The plug for the rear harness that is under the drivers seat is different as well. I have a feeling all the plugs are different. They must have changed plug vendors after 2003.

Thanks jamie99roadstar
Could a person just change the wiring plug and make a 1600 fender work on a 1700?

Thanks Curt,
the reason for these questions, is I'm looking for more available options for taillights
which the 1700 fender wont give me without a lot of altering.
Thanks
Denny

Denny I may have a harness for a 03 or older with the plugs on it. What I would do if I were you is cut both 1700 and 1600 wires about 6 inches from the plug under the seat. The put male and female connectors on the cut ends on both. That way you can switch back and forth to the type of plug you need if you decide to go back to the original one. I will look and see if I can find the harness as I have no use for it so it is yours.

Thanks Curt, I'll take you up on that. Let me know what the shipping cost will be and I'll send you the money.
Thanks again
