Has anybody tried the Yamalube4 20/40 weight? If so, what did you think about it?

Just my opinion. Yami doesn't have a refinery. Their oil is made by the lowest bidder. There are better oils out there. Again. Just my opinion.

The engine runs noisier.

The oil entrains air which has been attributed to making the engine run noisier.

I didn't like it.

Re:Yamalube 4 4 Years, 10 Months ago
It was in my motor when I bought it (2100 miles), I new a V-twin was going to be noisey but not that noisey. Switched to Mobil-1 20w-50, it got alot quieter, and my fuel mileage went up, not significantly but enough to notice in the math.(1/2mpg or so)
Recently had the recall done, and that's what the dealer put back in, I can't wait to get it out. I'm gonna run it for 700-800 miles and switch back to Mobil-1.
If they can run that stuff in Formula 1 and Lemans race cars, then it's good enough for my Roadie, not to mention the Stealer wants $8.95 a quart for that the Yamalube and I can get a gallon of Mobil-1 at Wally world for $23.95.

My dealer was pushing Yamalube..... I had the recall done and they DIDN'T change the oil. I did a little research and went with Amsoil. Check out there web site, you'll find there oil can go the whole season. You'll also find Mobil V-Twin is a good alternative! Happy Fourth to you all

Hey Musky

Ya Yammi doesnt do oil refining...

Wonder who's oil they are flogging??

"non-friction modified" ???

Does that mean no friction modifiers added???

Re:Yamalube 4 4 Years, 10 Months ago
I had 5 quarts of Yamalube 4 sitting in my shop (I used Mobil 1 20w50 V-Twin oil in the Roadie and never used the Yamalube up.)
I don't think I'll ever run Yamalube in the Roadie again now that I found it runs quieter on Mobil 1.
...Sooooo, My Model A Ford needed an oil change and I usually run
"Rotella T 15w40 Diesel" oil in that crude old motor, but I didn't have enough Rotella T left here for a oil change.
So, I put the Yamalube4 20w40 in the Model A ....It runs noisier than ever!
If Yamalube ain't good enough for my 1930 Ford engine, so it sure ain't gonna be good enough for my 2005 Air-cooled Roadie!
I think Yamalube is NOT my #1 choice!

Wait a minute. The only 20W-50 synthetic oil that Mobil 1 makes is the V-Twin. Are you saying that you're getting Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 Synthetic at Wally World for $23.95 a gallon? It's selling for $8.95 per quart here!
