02 Bungs welded in: Are they R* / MC specific? 1 Year, 5 Months ago
Hoping tomorrow to get some 02 bungs welded into the header pipe of a set of V&H Longshots and wanted to know before I start calling around if you think the bungs are motorcycle specific or are the the same as cars? If they are MC Specific would there likely be any local place that would carry them? Napa, Yamaha dealership, etc. ( i can almost gurantee a Yamaha dealership would need to order something like that).

Thanks!

The sensors for cars are 18mm by 1.5m. Some motorcycles are 12mm by 1.25m but ours are 10mm by 1.25. They are scarce as hens teeth. Yamaha stealer referred me to Suzuki shop who referred me to a performance shop, etc.

What I ended up doing is taking a sensor and going to a bolt and screw supply store. Got several proper size, steel, weldable nuts. They gave them to me for free. Nice people.

They worked out perfectly.

Just a good steel is fine. You jsut don't want anything junky that won't weld good. I don't think that Lowes or Home Depot is going to have them. If you can't find any send me a PM and I'll send you a couple.

Lowes and HD won't have steel nuts? Then I'm definitely screwed on that as I don't know of any bolt and screw supply stores in my area. Also since the O2 Bungs are likely going to be a challenge to locate I'll be sending you a PM Jerry. Thanks man!

You don't have a napa auto parts near by? Or a good auto parts store. Most good auto parts stores will have the metric nuts you need to use as bungs.
