Air Kit Help Needed 3 Years, 1 Month ago
Hey y'all! I'm a newbie on here as well as a proud new owner of a mint 2001 Midnight R* with only 1800 miles on it. I've done alot of mild customizing to my former bikes and have been waiting to get the R* for a few years now. I will be making mass amounts of mods over the winter and I'm starting with the air intake and exhaust. I've purchased a set of dual 3 inch sideburners by HK. My question is which air intake system works best on the R*? Baron's or a Kuryakyn Hypercharger. Or, if there are any other brands that someone can tell me about I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for helping me and I look forward to talking alot more on here as I go through this winter project!

Hey newbie

The stock R* intake is very restrictive and benfits greatly from any increased airflow. Most aftermarket intakes perform equally well so just buy whatever 'turn your crank'.

On the other hand, I would recommend the Baron's jet kit as it has an excellent needle and seems to be the easier to setup.
