Hello CPABike and
From what I understand, it would be a very good idea to use synthetic engine oil in a Road Star at those temps.

PS: We get all excited if it hits 85F here!

Not sure if you are planning on using the Road Star for your only transport while in the UAE, but when I was in Dubai, I did see a lot of Harleys - I would think the Road Star would do as well as the Harley (if not better) in the heat.
Just watch out - the driving in Dubai was a bit scary!

all well and good but my 2003 R* does not like it on HOT summer days round here that might get to >90*F without moving atleast >30mph, or stopping for very long. all depends on condition of relativity and want's.
if you cleaned up a few things, like the fuel pump, you COULD allways mount a couple of fan's...
i'd go with a water cooled engine if you expect any kind of longevity and usage.
ofcourse IF you have free oil an can change it every 1000 miles/20hours !

Cosidering that it takes cool air to cool a radiator, would there even be a difference? Wouldn't 108 degree be the coolest point a radiator could reach? This might be one for "Myth Busters"!

You can run anti-freeze/coolant in a radiator, less susceptible to overheating.
