how do you mount harley bags on the road *?? 1 Year, 4 Months ago

ok got a good deal on some hd hard bags but how do you put them on? im going to pick them up today and i will get pics of them on this post tonite after work or tomarrow morning.

I mounted mine on the Yamaha mounts. All I did was to redrill holes in the bag to line up with the mounting bracket on the sides. Then on the bottom I bolted a pc of aluminum tubing to the mount and it sits up inside the recess in the bottom of the hardbag to keep it in place. I also lowered them 3 inches.

Edge brackets for me. I like to be able to take my bags off quick when it storms and I'm at work.

Looks like Danny has you taken care of. My uses the Cycle Vision Baggertail mount with a customized cross member.

They look like they stick out too much in the back. also look kind of far out from the frame.

you cant tell in the pics to well but the bike is up on the stand so that may be why they look so high (with the rear wheel fully extended). the rh bag is only 1 inch from the top of the pipe. and the front edge of the bags are even with the back edge of the rear floorboards. and it was a bad angle of a pic i think the back edge of the bags are about even with the rear fender(mabye a hair in some). and i also agree that they stick out a bit more than they should  . just didn't know if i has being to hard on myself.thanks guys
