OF course I think the Doolies are the best. I ordered thru Maxair for the best price but I don't think Maxair sells them anymore, mainly because of the back ordering. They weren't able to tell me an ETA, however I received them in just a little over 2 weeks.

Yes, the serrated covers do change color a bit. They are stainless steel, not chrome, so they will get a bit of a golden color after a while. Again, I think the heat tape might help prevent this if it's offensive to you. For me, the color change is part of the retro appeal.

If I ever have the system off for whatever reason I may try to polish them up & nickle-plate them before I reinstall (with heat wrap). Nickel will still change color a bit, but not nearly as much as the stainless.

Greeny:

I just put the RH Classic 2-1 pipes (smooth heatshields) on my 06 Midnight Silverado this past Spring.

I couldn't be happier with them: 2-1 performance, nice, low rumble, retro look, easy to clean. Match it up with a MaxFlo airkit and you're lookin' at a classic ride.

These need to be updated, but here are some pics:

Good luck!
