Gram, I really appreciate the offer but I am currently as far a way as i can be here in Florida. I don't want to say the jetting is the culprit since I just had the thing jetted by the Yamaha shop less than 2 months ago. It ran fine a week ago and as soon as I remove a Tach thats connected to the left Coil (rear cylinder) the bike goes to hell in a hand basket and runs like crap this is why i think its the coil. I have ordered a Barons jet kit and will try the jetting myself with Bulldog's recommended settings from the Baron custom forum, but beyond that i dont know. How do I check the coil? using a meter and cranking the starter? I cant run the bike because I have to remove the gas tank to get to it. I'm learning so I can use any direction I can get.

Gram, I thank You also, and if I were in California I would be knocking at the door. Gram, you just hit on something. I have been starting to think the prob may be with the jetting and the rear cyl running rich, front running leaner. You disconnected your tach from the rear cyl., the tach may have been putting just enough load on the input volts to the coil that it balanced it out a bit more, well I think anyway, guess it could go the other way too. Can you get your bike to vibrate sitting still ? Where are you in Florida ? I am in Clearwater.

Wildrat, I am in Clearwater also! Maybe it's something in the water around here.lol

My R* has had this Vibration for a while now and nothing i do seems to fix it. I have been told by dealers that its normal because i have aftermarket performance parts.
Today I have to take the manifold back off and try and figure out why its leaking fuel. Maybe the seals or maybe I grinded too much rubber away when I ported it. I don't know. None the less I have to make a trip down to Barnies and probably get a new manifold if this one continues to leak fuel. It's actually a good thing it's leaking fuel because if it leaks fuel then it can certainly leak air too which may contribute to my vibe issues.

Wildrat, my email is ldowningjr@tampabay.rr.com maybe we can hook up sometime and compare notes.

I see part of the problem is Barney's, were you down at Barneys a couple of weeks back, I was picking my bike up and there was a fella there with his wife/girlfriend. Maybe that was you.

It was more like a month or so ago and my Girl would never wait on me, she just drops me off.lmao

All they did was rejet the carb and according to them they leaned it out a little because it was running a little too rich. When I changed the plugs last weekend they were all the same color (grey) now the rear is black and the front is grey. Like I said the only thing changed was disconnecting the tach from the coil. My priority right now is getting the manifold fixed then on to the coil. I'm going to rejet myself this time so I know what I have, but beyond that i dont know what else to do.
If i find something out I will definantly let you know

I just read through all of this. I have a suggestion. It is a longshot but it might be it.

I had the same issue with my bike. Around 1800 it shook the fairing like mad.

I looked at all the usuall suspects and never found it until I got to 8k miles. i pulled the boots off the plugs and all of them were loose. I guess it came from the factory like that.

I was not happy. I changed the plugs and noticed I was hav ing trouble getting them tight. I found out that without never sieze and using a regular deep well socket you could get the plugs in a bind and false tighten them.

After I figured this out, and got them to stay torqued to specs, my engine has smoothed out and has quieted down a ton.

Later I switched to royal purple oil and put a dyna 3000 on and it really runs smooth (for a big v-twin).

Good luck!
