here's his response

been a long time since i did that scene and i dont quite remember the specs. i sold the other set already. it is not an easy fix perse. especially if you dont know machinists. myself i would not go the babbet bearing again. i would just order some bronze bearing donuts from mcmasters and have it bored and turned to the od and id specs leaving some material on the id for the final align honing. ill come up on the forum later and talk a little.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you all. I had a gear break that went to the oil pump witch stopped the oil from pumping. by the time I got home I had spun the outer bearing. from what I hear this gear was a big problem in the early roadstars.they beefed up the gears in the 1700's but mine broke at the fork by the oil pump.I dont know why or if the pump froze up. just my luck

recall warantee? thats a manuf defect.

a good machinist should be able to align hone the case to accept
a new roller berrin that fits the crank. or bore the housing and press in
a machined bushing the machinist fabricates to fit the roller berring.

when the rollers sieze, they drag the race housing in the case bore,
which is aluminum & goes out of round easily, especially when heated.

My Dad was a mechanic all his life, and he always said Fram filters were not very good. He always used WIX filters.
