Okay just running a pole....Snapped my dam plug boot in half putting in copper wire to repace the resistors........so might go to aftermaket coils and wires....any pros and cons of Dyna coils or Nemesis or just plain ass going to the auto store getting a wire kit and redoing my oem coils by cutting them off and replacing the wires.....all opinions are appreciated .....Coug

I switched over to the Nemesis coils and 8.8 mm hi-perf spiral wound wires. I bought a generic wire kit, cut my own length and fitted the ends and boots.
It's a tight fit under the tank with the after market coils but the install seems to be working OK.
I don't think I can tell any difference in the seat-of-the-pants but my plugs may be lighter. I'll know after another tankful.

Cougar,
I can't speak for running Dyna coils on the Road*, but a few years ago I put them on my Vulcan (along with Dyna wires) and it seemed that the bike ran much better and started much easier.
As for replacing the OEM wires with auto wires and boots, I just did that a month ago with the rear coil as an "emergency" fix, 'cause one of the boots was bad and I didn't have time to wait for the dealer to order the boot. So far I haven't noticed any adverse affects, but it was kind of a pain in the ass to do. The new wires are 8mm and were a very tight fit into the OEM coil. Used a dab of dialectric grease on the end of each wire, then sealed the wires into the coil using Liquid Electrical Tape. That was the night before I left for Yellowstone and so far so good.
Or you could just replace the OEM boot. That would definitely be the easiest fix.
Good luck!!
In The Wind,
Aaron

I won't ask how you managed to break the boot doing the resistor change I want to, but I won't.

Okay can anyone that has an understanding of current flows resistance etc. tell me if the Nemisis puts out 1.5 ohms and the Dynas put out what 2.3 ohms I think ...
Correct
the Roadie calls for 1.5 ohms so will the resistance in the wires not let more than the needed 1.5 ohms to the plugs so It doesnt matter
The higher the resistance the weaker spark you will get.
...or is the Nemesis better because of its charge sent to the plugs???... did that come out right??? ...Coug
Everything you wanted to know is here .... http://forums.delphiforums.com/theloon/messages?msg=4753.1 including info from Greg Wicks (the Nemesis coil man).
If you have any questions after reading the link, I'll try and answer them
