Adjusting belt with Tricky Air 1 Year, 2 Months ago
Slowly trying to get the bike ready for the first ride ... it's snowing like crazy today.

I was raising and lowering the bike yesterday and just happened to check the belt tension. I don't know why it did not occur to me before ....

At full pressure, the belt is very loose. At no pressure, the belt is very tight.

OK, so we may not ride at full dump but I often ride at around 3/4 full.

So at what pressure do you guys have the belt tension set up?

Doc:

I adjust mine at full height. If you ride at 3/4, then it's there you'd want to set your tension.

Well that's the rub .... I ride 3/4 alone and full with a passenger.

Better too loose than too tight so I guess I'll have to set it at 3/4 and ride loose at full.

That means it's real tight at full dump.

I weigh around 300-350 pounds and adjust tension on my belt with me sitting on the bike.
Is this something you could try? have it full up with two people on and compare it to
1 up and 3/4 full?
I do it this way because when I adjust tension with me off the bike, the belt is way too tight with me on it.

I set my height about what it would be with the stock shock and spring and set the belt there. I have my rebound set where it feels good and it seems to work for me just fine. I only dump the bike if I am showing it or if someone wants to see it. I don't ride it fully pumped up it rides like a hard tail there nd beats the crap out of me same if it is lowered too.

That's another thing I don't understand ...

I don't ride it fully pumped up it rides like a hard tail there nd beats the crap out of me same if it is lowered too.

Even with the valve screwed all the way out mine rides 'spongy' with two up ...

I wonder if the valve is shot?

Don't think so don't forget I have taken a ton of weight off and I only weigh 155 lbs so not much pressure on the shock even with me on it. Now when my 300 lb step son sits on it is just like it is lowered. Yea I know I am an old shrimp.
