you will know it when you have it. the bike will run like complete dogS**T back fire , acts allmost like it dropped a cylinder. because basically it did! the spark plugs will be front cylinder = white and rear cylinder BLACK carbon fouled black! I had a dozen people and so called "techs" keep telling me it was jetting.. BS! go with what you're pipe manufacturer reccomend or please listen to what people on this forum say about jetting. they are dead right on. My bike has Hard chrome 3" and a K&n big air kit. AIS is removed. I am running dynojet needle on 3rd clip , stock pilot and DJ200 main. the bike pulls hard now all they way to to the rev limiter.my friend had to install a 1550 kit in his fatboy just to keep up.. lol. now I will change the front drive gear and whip him again... hehehe! we been going back and forth like this with our toys for years!

Thanks everyone. I have run a tank of Lucas Upper Cyl Lube through it before and it helped, so maybe it's just time for another round. I wish I had checked here before I bought it, as I would have gone with the '06 just to distance myself from these sort of worries. Once again, thank you for calming me down.

Hmmm .... I don't think you have anything to worry about. It sounds like it just may be a cold engine.

The bike needs a bit of choke when first starting up/out. I may be that you're trying to be too aggressive when starting out.

I think Doc is right.
My Roadie absolutely insists on being well warmed-up before heading out. It will just try and buck me off if it's still too cold. Extremely cold-blooded bike, but awesome gas mileage!

Starmyram,Mine is the same way. It just seems to be the nature of the beast.
Once it warms up it runs great.
