Hi Doc - sorry to take so long to reply - actually am running 36A - 87 octane and absolutely no preignition!

OK

As for the billet end cap - installed today - how do you block off the old holes so the fiberglass will not blow out?

You lost me.

Also the baffle does not stay seated in the pipe. If the bolts are at 6 and 9, my baffle pushes out slightly at 1:30. I admit that my pipe is not virgin - it has met asphalt on many occasions.

The baffle is probably out of round. I you can't make it true then you need to get another baffle.

And for the screen - the only window screen material that we have locally is either vinyl or aluminum. I repacked the baffle and put in some of the aluminum screen material and aluminum dryer duct tape on the inside over the original holes.

I also used the aluminum screen. I'm not sure where you put the tape. You still need the original holes for the exhaust gases to exit.

Yup - that is the end cap. It looks like you modified the stock baffle by cutting off the original end "insert". Very crafty. I purchased the HP baffle. The holes I am talking about are the original holes in the megaphone that secured the stock "insert". New holes were drilled in the megaphone at 6 and 9 approx 10/32" from the end of the megaphone to secure the "end cap" and that left the other holes in the megaphone wide open.
