I don't think so. My experience showed up when my Highway lights kept blowing my 20A Main Fuse in the Fuse Box. Found a Pin Hole in my supply wire inside the Left Side lamp holder. Taped up around the pin hole and problem went away. If there had been an in line fuse, I would suspect it to be rated less than 20A. Hope this helps.

If yer bike is a Silverado with factory passing lamps and which only come on when the motor is running then they wired thru a 2-pin white connector in the headlamp housing and then thru to a relay..and an in line fuse assembly is not used

They may only come on with the bike running... and yes there is a toggle switch on the left lamp housing

Bike has to be running for them top work, switch turns them on and off...
Check the power connector in the headlamp housing, and the relay connectors to be sure that it did not come unplugged, remember the stealer put it together and sometimes they do not connect everything so good...
it is probably the white connector in the headlamp or the relay connection...

I had a similar problem on my 06 and fixed it by replacing the toggle switch. While replacing the switch, I noticed that some of those small wires inside the passing lamp had some insulation cracks so I recommend that you look things over while you have it apart.

Has anyone tracked down the location of the fuse for the passing lamps?

I was driving home tonight and the chrome ring came loose and the passing lamp popped out of the housing, swung back and forth a few times and evidently touched the hot terminal to ground and burned out the fuse. Everything else works though so I don't think it's going to turn out to be a blown 20A main fuse.

Where are the 3 fuses that are shown on the fische, under the seat?

Any idea where the inline fuse for the passing lamps is, or where I can find a schematic diagram or wiring diagram for it. The bike is a 2001 Roadstar (WildStar) Silverado.

Thanks..

DutchWildstar....

Should be inside the Headlamp housing... because you are wired to the hi or lo or running light circuit and you should have an in- line fuse inside the headlamp housing...

and the fuses you are asking about are under the left side cover...

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/08/09 18:19

Thanks for the quick reply. I found the installation instructions for the passing lamps and the parts list does say "inline fuse" on the red lead. No pictures to show if it's in the headlight or the left passing lamp or somewhere in between.
I'll trace it down in the morning.

I found a link here to this site http://www.paulmilner.com/yamaha/handbuch/handbuch.htm#wildstar
a service manual pdf and loads of other info.

Here's my bike, I took the windshield off a few days ago and it increased my mileage by about 20%. I can't believe I'm more aerodynamic than the windshield.

I've also since added a driver's backrest from Firehouse customs, I think it looked better without it but my back loves it.
