RH Dooley Head Pipes 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Anyone know what the diameter is on the Road House Dooley head pipes are? Being that they are out of business, I'm thinking of a different route to take. My mufflers are rusting real bad on the bottom, don't know what kind of time I have left before they actually have holes. The right side is twice as bad as the left. Was thinking that since Basanni sells the head pipe and mufflers separately that if the head pipes are the same diameter, that maybe adding a coupler or cutting down to size I could just go with their mufflers. Even using a reducer coupler. Unemployment sucks!!!! Any way, just a thought.

Basanni are 1.75 headers

I know they're smaller than that. I think they're 1 9/16" but may be slightly smaller than that. Somebody else may know for sure.

According to some specs I found, they have a 2" inner baffle tho. Hmm, guess I can try to get my calipers under the heat shield and see if I can get a read. I don't have my bike where I live, keep it at a storage facility. But the weekend is here, and weather is suppose to be ideal for riding.

Another interesting tidbit I found was that the Bassini muffler for the road star is also the same for the HD softail from 89 to 06. So would a Vance and Hines or any other dooley muffler for a HD soft tail mount the roadie?? Looking at the Bassani pic, the 2 mounting points are quite a bit apart

Eberman The mufflers from the roadstar stock pipes has been used by a couple of people here on the RSC. They used 2 top mufflers. I was actually thinking of going this route before I ordered my Freedoms. It actually looks really good. I think the punched them out for the sound they prefered.

I will look and see in my PM who it was. It took some welding of a new mount on the pipe though.
