diy adjustable dogbones.. 4 Years, 9 Months ago
Hey guys...
I have tried many versions of springs and lowering kits...
bottom line is a soft enough comfy ride solo will possibly compromise height on 2 up etc.... After careful review of a few adjustable versions.. I have come up with
2 types of adjustable dogbones anybody can make. I am going to install in the next few days the first protoype of the common version made with heim joints and 1/2-20 threaded rod....( about 80 bucks with parts from Mcmaster Carr, but I am going to order the same spec parts from Grainger to see if the have the same heft and strength, but they are 50% the price of MC )this one will have the most flexibility and adjust without a lift..the other is using your stock dogbones, and for maybe 10 bucks, will let you adjust to 3-5 settings ( or whatever settings you wish) , but would require putting up on a lift to change....
I will probably end up selling them online ( the second version patent pending)

BUT...for the faithful members of this forum who have always helped me...and
if this sounds like something you folks are interested in I will send the specs, drawings etc to Doc for him to post in the easiest format for everyone to view..

J

I love the pipe. The best part about it was the price, $108 delivered to the door.

She runs awsomely now. I get 40MPG City/50 Highway and that is running her HARD.
06 1700
Ported Stock Intake manifold(Down to the metal)
BAK Breather (Added after the pic)
BUB 2-1 Pipes (Wrapped the Baffle with muffler packing stuff)
40 CV Carb
167.5 Mik Main
35 Pilot
PMS 2 turns out ( Gonna turn in some and play some )
DYNO Needle 3rd clip with extra washer below the spacer for a total of 2.

I love the R*. I can't decide if I want to do and Ultra Install, Fat rear and skinny front or do the Bobber look w/Apes. Damn this M/C for makeing me so undecided. I guess I'll have to pick up another one so I can pick the style of R* by the mood I'm in.

Sorry for the thread Hijack, I didn't want to seem rude.

Post edited by: JDoza, at: 2007/08/13 08:41
