Fiberglass Packing 4 Years, 5 Months ago

I modded my Roadhouse exhaust this weekend. The existing fiberglass packing was baked crispy black. To remove that fiberglass meant destroying it.

I ended up wrapping the baffle back up using plumbers pipe wrap. It's fiberglass, but not nearly as dense as the original. I wrapped it a double layer and ran a little masking tape around it to hold it in place.

Anyone see any problem with keeping it this way? My other option would be to order some replacement packing from Roadhouse. Are there other alternatives?
