Might want to pull the carb, and break it down, clean it and just do a visual. Check pilot jet, as mentioned before, float level....etc. When it blew back into the carb with enough force to move it off the manifold, you could have some debris blocking important circuts.
The plugs might show black now, using the choke creates a rich environtment. I saw the video, sounds pretty ill. With all my experience with engines that are mildly modified, I've never "retarted" them. I'm just learning about thses twins, but you might have a svs because of running it like that. Ya got your hands full, but these people here have hours of experience! Good Luck!

No worries on the mess, these guys were giving me a hard time on how neat my shop was!

Do a compression check to see if you have a vavle problem and take a air hose with blow gun a lightly blow air arouund all yuor carb mounts if if it wants to run better with air you have a bad intake leak. there's a start.

OK WOW its NOT SVS or Dynatech timming, my exhaust valves on the fwd head are only opening about 1/8 of an inch and i have 1/4in sprung gap between rocker and valve it looks fine till you press down in the pushrod the a gap of about 1/8in opens up, leaving pressure in the cylender so when the intake opens it blows off the carb and it exsplains the backfire to. WOW

the exhaust valves are closed so thier not bent and the pushrod doesent look bent, the rocker is not cracked so its got to be lifter or cam rite????

ok it turns out the bottom valve wont close almost no visabble wear on the lifter so i dont think its has anything to do with wear just a faulty part plain and simple. im unabble to dissasemble the valve to see the exsact cause with out causeing more damage then needed to cause this problem. i did use vegie oil and compressed air to see if and carbon would come out or debree to no avail and its still inop. simple fix replace lifter.

the part circled in red is what failed:

Wow we went to bed in the east and you are still wrenching.

Are you, maybe thinking of replacing lifter with Melling #JB2011, Sealed Power #HT2011 or equivalent?
