Like someone said, the retard switches have to be hard wired in, usually they are used with nitrous or a blower. They can be wired to a manual switch or a VOES (vacuum operated electrical sw) Really need to try each one (B setting), and see which one fits your riding style. Right now you are playing with the wrist because you are happier than a pig in mud. Need to get rid of the mind set of that, and revert to your real style of riding and try each setting for a week or so. The pinging could also be from a too lean a condition as well. and as I said before, must use premium gas. Right now, find which setting causes the least of pinging, then you might want to consider a jetting change, but one thing at a time. Depending on where and if it is necessary for a jetting change it could be in any one of the 3 ckts that could need a change, pilot, needle, or main, or even a combination of 2 of the ckts.

One thing at a time. so to compare, then if it didn't work, you can go back to what ya did change, it's trial and error sometimes, and sometimes can even try your patience.

Thanks for the number Dave, if I need too I will call the company and see what they suggest for my setup. Erbman hit the nail on the head. I went from wanting to drive my bike off a cliff to playing with the wrist because I can't believe how different the bike runs! LOL Like a pig in mud! But yeah I will give the setting a shot for awhile and see which ones are smoothest and then go from that point. Really...thanks for all the help. T

Did the PO get a "Big Bore kit" or "HC pistons"? Big difference. Big Bore increases the size of the actual bore (cu in)of the engine. HC pistons only raise the compression and not the Bore size.

I put in Wiseco HCs I bought on Ebay for $100 and modified my heads (hi-velocity porting) about a year and a half ago. Changed my settings per a youtube video I watched about the Dyna 3000, and had a small pinging when the engine was hot. I turned the PMS out 1/3 turn or so and it improved. I think I still have a small intake leak in the rear cylinder causing a lean condition, or need to drop my needle one washer or so.

I get some pinging in the rear cylinder when I get on it in 90+ degree weather.

She runs like a raped ape, especially in the hotter weather. I'd love to get it dyno tested.
