Hey boka sounds like your starter solenoid is playing up,the contacts might be worn some, and maybe falling to bits in there and stuck together

Your best bet is to follow the troubleshooting instructions in the back of the service manual. This way you won't be replacing parts that are OK.

Thanks for the advice. ive never had a problem before so i dont have a service manual but i am going to pick one up today and i also started to look at the solenoid last night to see if there was any issues with it. nothing out of the ordinary without taking it off and looking closer.

Thanks again.

Hey Musky
Thanks for the link to the service manual. I found my problem for the mysterious starting on its own. It was the STARTER RELEAY. So in the future maybe I can help someone else.

P.S. I like your bags Im looking for a set right now.

Hi Musky. I'm new to site here and was looking around for carb/needles and found your post regarding manuals. I went to the link above and was trying to down load the pages for the carb and was unsuccesful. Is this my lack of experience or is that the way that site works. Thanks Brian

Click the file you want. It will open in a new page, then Save As to your computer.
