Bike Weaves 4 Years, 8 Months ago
I have a 2005 roadstar, when I ride the bike it feels like I am in a wind storm / bob sled the bike sways side to side. I just don't know what to do? Any suggestions?

I just put new tires on ( maxxis classic which is recommended for the bike) and had the tires balanced twice by 2 different dealers. I have adjusted the windshield, checked the steering bearings, the shock, air pressure, wheel alignment, arrows on tires are going in the right direction.

Everyone tells me this is the way the bike should feel and I'll just have to get use to it. I have been riding for 30+ years and I have never felt a bike ride like this.

I have tried everything on the back end of the bike and also moved my body in different riding positions. I am now thinking that it has something to do with my front end. Yesterday, when riding at about 30 to 35 mph I let go of the handle bars and it shakes. Does anyone know how to check play in neck bearings (there's no slop back & forth or up & down.) Dose anyone have any suggestions?????

Could be a bad new tire. Plys might be seperated or the tire might have been molded wrong. Just a guess.

Guess I should ask - Did it do it with the old tires?

Post edited by: Musky, at: 2007/09/04 10:26

I know when I first put my new tires on they really felt funny. After riding a few miles they settled down are are smooth as silk. I am not sure but I think I read that this is common for new tires. How long have you had them how many miles?
