I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THE FORUM SINCE I JOINED (ABOUT A MONTH) AND FIND IT A GREAT SOURCE OF INFO. ALSO SEEMS LIKE A GOOD PLACE TO HANG OUT AND MAKE SOME FREINDS.
I HAVE MY 05 MIDNIGHTSTAR APART FOR PAINT, AND WHILE IT'S DOWN AM GOING TO PERFORM SOME UPGRADES. BIKE IS STOCK EXCEPT FOR VANCE AND HINES LONGSHOT HS. AM ADDING A BAK AND A DYNA3000. I AM LOOKING FOR A GOOD STARTING POINT FOR THE DYNA 3000. REV LIMITER,IGN ADVANCE ECT. ANY EXPERIENCE IS WELCOME
THANKS AND LOOKING FORWARD TO JOINING IN REGULARLY.

Welcome to the clinic MidnightCruiser.

For starters, I like 34A on the dynatek 3000. Set the RPM to 5000. The BAK is a good addition to these bikes as well. Hope this helps. BB

Welcome to the Clinic midnightcruiser.

Where to set the Dyna depends on your riding style.

32A is most like stock.

34A seems to be better for midrange

36A seems to be better for topend

I usually recommend that one starts at 34A and then moves to 36A to test them out. If you get pinging at a setting then you need to move down one setting.

BTW .... it's easier to read your post if you turn the Caps Lock off.

Thanks for the input, it sure helps taking the guessing out of setting it up. Can't wait to get the tank and fenders back from painter, weather has been great for riding in the evening and I'm going through withdrawal.
Doc... sorry 'bout the caps... they only graduated me to get rid of me, not cause i knew what i was doing
