I had my carbs rejetted when I had the recall work done. It was backfiring something awful. Every since then, the back fire has ceased but I get it through the intake occaisionally while riding (about 55mph or so). When I pull the choke (enrichener) a little, it clears this problem up. Thing is, at intersate speeds (65 mph and above) it feels like it is bogging down a little. It doesn't backfire or anything, not even a noticable sound difference coming from my engine, just feels like it is goosing a bit. Could you wizards of Roadstars help a newbie out?
By the way, I have new plugs and no leaks around the intake.

Sounds like you are a bit lean.

Do you know how the carb it setup? When do you get the backfiring through the carb?

No I don't. I am sad to say that I am not mechanically inclined when it comes to engines and what not. I work in telecommunications and install battery back up power plants, but all things related to bikes, cars etc. are not my field. All that said, when I have the enricher (choke) all the way in, I get the upchuck through the intake. Add a little enrichening and it goes away. I can't seem to get rid of the goosing at interstate speeds though. The goosing is worse when the enricher is not in use.
Thanks, You Da Man

The 'goosing' is called lean surging (if we are talking about the same thing). You are lean somewhere, most likely float level too low, needle clip to high or idle circuit incorrectly set.

First try and reset your PMS. Try turning it out 1/2 turn and see what that does. A picture of where the PMS can be see in this article ..... http://roadstarclinic.com/content/view/56/96/

The PMS should not be turned out more than 4.5 turns.

If the PMS adjustment does not do the trick then you'll either need to go into the carb or take it in.
