#401836 Lefty (User) Junior Boarder Posts: 162 Oil Change Interval 10 Months, 1 Week ago   This is probably a sore subject but I am going to ask it anyway. I know not many people use the Yamaha reccomended oil in the manual but what about mileage between oil changes? Manual reccomends 4,000 miles. Is this pretty standard practice? Platinum Boarder Posts: 7083 Re:Oil Change Interval 10 Months, 1 Week ago   It's obvious that the more frequently you change the oil, the cleaner your oil will stay and your oil will never "Wear out" However, it's not cheap to do that, some say 3 months in an engine and oil will begin to break down on it's own, if your riding a lot, it won't hurt to change more frequently. If your cheap like most of us, you want to stretch it out as long as you can. So Dino about 3-4K, Syn 4-6K. It's up to YOU on how long you want to leave old oil in your bike.
