Call Me Crazy....R1 front end...AND rear wheel 10 Months, 1 Week ago  
So I've come across an entire 2005 Yamaha R1 Raven edition front end to include brakes, rotors, axle, and wheel for a great price that I'm wanting to purchase and swap out with my stock 2004 R* front end. I know All Balls Racing sells the appropriate conversion bearings so the only thing I'm unsure of is the steering stem length of the R1 and R*. Does anyone know the length of each of the steering stems? I have my fingers crossed that the R1 stem is, if anything, a little longer than the R* so all I'll have to do is either trim it or add a small spacer.

Part 2 of this craziness is that I can get the matching R1 rear wheel for under $50 and would like to see what would be involved with getting it to work on the R* so I can run a 190 rear tire. I read the write up about the 180 tire mod so I'm not overly concerned with what has to be done to the swingarm but more so what has to be done to mount the pulley on the R1 wheel.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's the point. I've seen a few people do the R1 swap on the R* Warrior and a few other people doing the R* Warrior fork swap on the R* so I figured I'd just jump all the way in. I've owned a couple R1s and love the front end stability, hence the reason I'd like to put an R1 front end on the R*. I'm all about not conforming to the norm.

The 05 calipers are radial mounted to the R1's inverted fork. Different setup from the Roadstar, more like the later R*Warriors.

The R1 calipers that you see guys putting on the Roadstar are older ones and bolt right up.

My son-in-law has an R1 Anniversary Edition.





Knew our bike were cousins, just didn't realize how close ! ! !
