Yes I think so. Some where in the forum section is a tread on replacing the valve in the forks which gives a breakdown on how to take them apart and put the together. You can do a search to find it. Maybe some one who has done it will chime in.

I remember reading that you can use a clean broom handle pushed into the tube to hold the inside parts while you tighten the bolt on the bottom of the tube. Sure cheaper than the tool!

I have not done it even though I have changed the fork oil in mine. I took off the top plug and dumped out the oil after removing the spring. Flushed them out with some trans oil and Sea Foam as there was a lot of dirty oil in there.

I used Type F trans fluid which gives a *firm* ride. I am planning to switch back to 5 weight fork oil ($$$).

If you have to pull them from the lower legs, you'll end up popping out the seals. I'd have a shop do the swap for you, as you'll need a driver to get the seals back in tight. If you take them the parts, they shouldn't charge more than $100.00+-.

Unloosen the allen on the bottom of the fork first before you take the top off and remove the spring. The presser from the spring allows the allen to be loosened with out the tool or broomstick If you are careful the only cost will be the new fork oil; change to 10 wt, i did and the ride is much better!!
