Has anybody tried the Cobra fi2000 powerpro tuner on their 08 Road *
I have removed the ais, done stage 3 to the pipes, iridium plugs and
opened up the stock air box.Just wondering if it would be worth trying
just hoping to gain advice from the more experienced people on the clinic
before I purchase one.

Thanks in advance.CM

I haven't tried that one specifically but I did try a Wiseco unit which does the same thing. It was OK but performance is really just as good using the O2 sensors and stock ECU.

Yes, it's a good air cleaner. It allows alot of flow. At idle all you can hear is sucking air.

BTW, I don't care for their F.I.R.E module for the EFI.

I have a 08 Roadstar Silverado with Cobra exhaust, aftermarket airbox with K&N filter. The first thing I had to do was remove the AIS. Cobra recommended to use the FI2000 which I purchased and installed. I really could not tell any difference. Maybe if I had it tuned on a dyno, who knows. It's in the box on the shelf in the garage now. One thing I can tell you I set it to the recommended setting and under hard accellaration black smoke would come out the exhaust. Thats why I removed it. No problem now.

Yes, I am running the new Cobra Power Pro CVT, I have 3k on the new unit. Glad to give you any feeedback. contact me at: higginsd@uga.edu

Just for edification: Cobra makes 2 different FI model controllers. The FI2000R 02 is the model that requires MAP downloads or adjustments, usually retails for about 250.00. There is a new model that finally hit the street for the Roadstar 2 months ago and it is a FI2000 Power Pro with CVT technology, and it retails for around 500.00
