I'm thinking the "freon in a can" combined with the vice & slide hammer will be what I try. Plus, I agree that I might have to wait until the engine is back in the frame and try pulling then.

Also, I'm hoping my cousin is able to find a couple spent .45 casings for me though! I love the look they give over the billet plugs, but we'll see what I have come Sunday!

Well the dent puller was a phenomenal success at pulling those elbows with ease! We drilled a pilot hole in the elbows, threaded the reverse thread puller in, pulled about 5 times and POP, she's out! No need even for the Freon, probably helped that the ambient temperature was about 7 degrees Celcius!!

The cold also helped popping the plugs in, no problem what so ever! Thanks to all the advice! Now what to do with the unused can of compressed air...

I just grabed hold of mine with vice grips and wiggled them right out. Not hard at all.

Re:AIS Elbow removal?? 9 Months, 1 Week ago
The rear elbow broke off. I had to use and awl and hammer to get it split up. Ended up having to be VERY careful and remove it in pieces with needle nose pliers and hammer and awl. Took my time, but was concerned if it were ever to come out. On the front I took my sweet time to wiggle with vise grips and rubber hammer. A little WD-40 as well. Took a while, but it did come out in one piece. I replaced with the 45 caliber nickle.

If you need any nickle or brass 45 cal casings, PM me and I'll send you a few. The gun shop/range gave me about 20 of them for free.

Performance? No difference. But that popping upon deceleration is GONE. Happy I completed this. Well worth the effort.
