Check your tire for a wear indicator(usually located toward the inside of tire in the tread grooves) if it is still not touched the pavement you should be good to go, if it is worn down save your gas for another day.

I've ridden around 120 miles with a 6" patch of the cord showing. Just to get to a tire shop.

I'm kinda nuts about tires and brakes, I will not ride if either is marginal as I have had plenty of experience with "Murpheys law"

As soon as I touch the wear bar, with-in 100 miles got new rubber. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Re:tire wear 1 Year, 9 Months ago
What are the "wear bars" or "wear indicators" My rear Dunlop looks like new around the outer areas but it's a little thin down the center area and I can still see and feel groove pattern . I also still see those little slits (squiggly lines)on the face of the tire (are those the indicators). I'm figuring on a new rear tire next season and possibly going to the Shinko 777 as last year a new Dunlop 404 was put up front. Now you guys got me looking closer and wondering about tire wear

Wear bars are put in the main grooves of the pattern. They show the minimum wear point for the tire.

They look like this:

Man yer one smart fella. It would take me a life time to figure out how to not only post a picture let alone draw circles and arrows on the pics. How do you learn that stuff ? I bet you even have a cell phone.
