Slip on Mufflers 9 Months ago
I am having trouble finding slip on Mufflers for my '09 Roadie.

Vance&Hines and all the rest list slip-ons for the Roadie from '99 to '07 Roadstar.

I ordered the Cobra Slash cuts, but you can't change the baffles in those and I don't particularly care for the sound of those and
I would like to have a muffler that I could change the baffles in.
That way I could try different baffles or even make my own.

My question is, what is the difference between the '07 and the '09 Roadstar? Is it the size of the head pipe or something?

I called Cruiser Customizing and they told me there was nothing available in a slip-on for this bike after '07 accept the Cobras I have already got.

If it's just the brackets, I don't worry about brackets, I am pretty much of a DIY'er,but my concern is the size of the head pipe the muffler has to slip on too.
Seems like the yokels at Cruiser Customizing don't really know much and I sure as heck don't as I'm new to the Roadstar.

River, My advice...based on the fact that I own a FI as well. I tried the slip on route when the bike was new. They basically all fit..just looked ugly. The stock headpipes are good for the stock mufflers and that is about it. Choices for the FI's are limited...but you can run any setup you want if you are willing to get new 02 bungs welding in the new headpipes. You shouldnt have to pay more that 20 bucks to get anybody to weld them in. So my advice is find what you like appearance and sound wise and weld in bungs. You will be much happier than going the slip on route. In the end you will spend much less money. r/Dennis

I bought the last set of slash cut slipons available from Khrome werks for the R*. I am happy with the sound and the power output. They can be noisy when I want and reasonably quiet when I want. I bought these direct from Khrome werks as part of their close out. The baffles are removable to repack or modification. If you found a set of slipons you like for a different bike you could take them to be modified to fit your bike. I went with the Khrome werks because they fit with out modifications.
