Same here. Last tank was all in-town driving, no highway. Never went over 45mph. Mostly 25-35. Fill up yesterday took 3.825 gallons and I had 98.5 miles on trip A for 25.7 mpg. Should I expect higher with slow in-town riding?

Thats happened to me once or twice to. I think it has something to do with drinking to much whiskey.

I've only had that happen with the battery voltage dip/reset thing. Sometimes you can get this with a relatively healthy battery, especially in hot weather. If you start up, ride less than 10 minutes, but enough to get the motor good and warm, you can get a pretty heay amp spike from the starter when you turn over that hot motor with a good tight cylinder, and your charging system has not put enought bottom end back in the battery.

Also, I get 44-46 MPG commuting, 35-38 when driving like I stole it. K&N in stock airbox,V&H Jet kit, stage 2 drilled stockers, and 2 3/4 turns on the screw. 2003 Silver Edition Silverado.

Sorry, but something is really wrong...I suspect someone stole gas if all else is in order...worst I ever got was about 36 mpg right after the carb rejet and before going back to the OEM needle....before and after 40-45 is standard cruising around.

Ok....this is just kind of odd/mildly funny. I have been doing a mixture of city riding and short highway riding, and went to fill up with gas and i put in 4.3 gallons.....I reset my trip meter every time i fill up with gas so i can check my mileage/carb setup.....well, wehn i went to reset my trip meter....it said 95.7 miles.
Lol...now just off the top of your head you can quickly realize that that is right around 20 mpg. So, i quickly start looking for a fuel leak somewhere....there are no leaks fellas. I wasn't riding it hard either....is that even possible to get that kind of mileage if you aren't beating the S@*& out of it.
I have a had two other roadstars before and had some serious motor work done to them (Heads ported and polished, cams, high comp pistons, mik 42mm carb) and even in the city beating the hell out of it i was getting in the low 40's for mileage.
Anyway, i just thought i would share with you all some funny wednesday stories. It is kind of screwed up though....lol. Plugs are not black either.....exhaust is clean as a whisttle too.....I mean NOTHING in the exhaust.
Have a good wednesday. Someone has to chime in to tell me they get worse than that to make me feel better....lol.

I get about 40-45 in about 50/50 highway/city driving. I am NOT easy on her at all. Maxair intake, LA choppers pipes, jetted, pms screw 2 turns out. When i went to Maine and back (1400 miles) i averaged 55 on the highway going 75-80 mph.

Re:Seriously?! 9 Months ago
hey thanks for the post jimtec,
But i am unsure of what a "coasting enrichener" is. I would think that if if is running rich enough to get that kind of silly mileage.....then the pipes would be coated with carbon, or atleast the plugs. I wiped the inside of the pipes and there was absolutley no blackness on my finger at all, and then i pulled the plugs.....and to my suprise they looked like eggshell white with a little brown tint. To me, that is perfect.
I could totally understand getting that kind of mileage if i was running 200 h.p. with turbo and a bottle of liquid dynamite or something, but this motors internals are completely stock.......i am familar with the roadstar and know how they perform on all levels....and this is very uncharacteristic of a roady engine. Kind of staggeringly different from what i have experienced in the past with these motors.
