If you have no baffles the it will increase your performance up to a point. If you go to far with back pressure then it is bad for the engine. Most pipe manufactures tune their pipe design for the best performance and noise levels. Basically, the way pipes are built, inner diameter, baffles, length of pipe, all play some role in where the engine will get it's best performance. There is not going to be a pipe that will provide across the board performance. The more open a pipe, the loss of low end Tq, but better on the high end, unfortunately, our Tq peaks at just about the middle of the RPM range. Personally, I wouldn't add to an existing manufacturers pipe set-up. Maybe if you shortened the baffle, then added the loli's. Erb, Do you really think most of the pipe manufactures really throw the bike on a dyno when they are designing pipes? I figure they just sit down with a new box of crayons, grab the red one and start drawing over a photocopy of a picture of a Roadie. When the prototype is fabbed, maybe throw it on a bike they borrowed from a "friend of a friend" and take a rip down the parking lot. I'd bet a paycheck that less than 10% of pipe designs have ever been on a dyno before they are sold to the public. At first I didn't like the loss of Tq and I also lost a few MPG went from 52 to 47 MPG. I like setting off car alarms and seeing people put their fingers in their ears when I go by. So it was well worth it. Shit Lucky, I set off car alarm 'warnings' with the baffles in, and I usually don't 'get on it' hard. If i Goose it, I think all bets are off. If i take the baffles out, the noisy Bastard would annoy ME! Doc told me a couple of months ago that i need hearing aids to correct tenitus(ringing in the ears) i tried the lolli's just not quite deep enough rumble still a lil too high pitched. i like settin off the car alrms in parkin lots tho too   Logged       The administrator has disabled public write access.
