Idle Speed 5 Years, 9 Months ago
After riding for a bit the idle seems much higher than I think it should be. Next time I come in from a ride I'll try and attach a sound file so those here who have the knowledge can take a listen and give me some advice.

In the mean time, is there an idle screw adjustment someplace that I can tweak that won't throw off something else as far as mixture goes?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Mark

Below the airbox is a knob. That's the idle adjuster. Adjust the idle when the bike is good and warm. It feels strange when you turn it. Like it will break before it turns. It won't. So just keep turning.

If you got the bike from a dealer they will turn the idle up so when they bring it around as its not really warm enough it wont sputter so adjustments need to be made by you when it is fully warmed up .....idle should be set at 850-950 RPMS you can get an inexpesive guage to set it at any sears waly world even an auto parts plae but the auto parts place is gonna cost 25% more...Coug
