http://www.vxb.com/page/bearings/PROD/Kit8887Be glad you didn't have to get the super high tolerance version... I paid $30 for mine. Only one they had in stock and it definitely makes a huge difference.
The one I got was a "7003C" with a TIGD2-GLP4 spec *WAY* *WAY* over what is needed. Usually used in partial oil bath with 50,000 RPMs average.

If the shift lever seems to be frozen, I would remove the shift linkage and see if the shift lever is frozen on the shaft or if the problem is on the trans side. I don't see how anything with the clutch/pressure plate could have anything to do with the shift lever being hard to move.
Thanks Dave, I am going to look at the linkage and shift spline first. Like Fireman had posted on similar issue, "start with the simple stuff."
It would be great if it were something easy. I'd feel like a wasted a tow but would be back on the road faster and on the cheap. After this quick check I'll disassemble my way to the bearing.
Thanks again.
Well, the shift lever spline is frozen in its bracket (single arm shifter). I could only get it to budge a couple of cm's up down after a WD40 soak and can't get it out. I now have the floorboard off and the bracket separated from it. I have not come up with a way to get enough pressure on it. I tried a little heat without success. I have not ruled out other additional issues like the bearing. I need to get the shifter back on first.
Being that its Sunday I thought of visiting an auto store or even Home Depot. I am wondering if they have an impact tool or something that exerts enough pressure.
Thoughts?
It's such a simple issue in an accessible area I could have accessed it on the road but would not have been able to remove the shifter to fix it. Simple issue but expensive outcome when I add the towing overage, the small ding in my chrome fork from the tow strap and the fact that my air shock may have been damaged from a few huge road bumps while being towed. It airs up and down but is a noisy now and hesitates like it has dry spot on the shaft or seal damage.

Because it was locally available and could get me back on the road the same day. Only reason.
I wanted to be back and working that day if possible. So it cost me $22 more... plus tax, but no shipping. I've blown more on shi---err stuff that didn't work.

I have tried and have taken the parts to 2 shops and Home Depot and they will not come apart...used a torch, WD-40, PB Blaster, vice, etc.
I gotta cut bait and replace these parts. I have a ride set for this weekend so I am hoping to find some parts on the quick.
I am preparing to post a WTB search on the Classifieds. Does anyone have the following, new or used?
4WM-27443-10-00 - Bracket
STR-4WM38-10-01 - Single arm shifter, smooth
Even if you have used or lender bracket and shifter (single or heel toe) that would help me this weekend. My thoughts are someone has a full left floorboard and mount laying around in their garage that has the bracket I need.
Lemme know. Thanks.
